Miranda July: New Society
Learning to Love You More - Assignment #43: Make an exhibition of the art in your parent's house
In the context of a retrospective about her work that spans through performance, film, music, collaborative work with strangers, short stories, novels, and much more, Miranda July gave me an assignment as a revisitation of the project Learning to Love You More.
The mission: making an exhibition with the art I grew up with, that defined and shaped my vision of the world, that we literally took off my mom's apartment's walls for the occasion.
All the pieces are accompanied by personal reminiscences about what a specific object represented or evoked when I was a kid.
The installation is part of the exhibition Miranda July: New Society, currently at Fondazione Prada (Milano, IT).
